In New York, pest control is regulated by the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC). Applicators certify in categories such as 7A (structural & rodent) for $450 per 3 years, and every business location needs a $900 DEC Pesticide Business Registration and at least $1,000,000 per occurrence in general liability insurance.
